Computer Diagnostics

Virtually every modern day transmission has some kind of Computer Controls. Whether it's as simple as controlling the Torque Converter Clutch application or as complcated as a fully Computerized Shift & Pressure Control capable system; they all depend on computer modules. This complex system integrated with Engine Control Units "ECU" make diagnosing problems with todays modern Transmissions even more complicated and a job for the professional technician.

The first step for any Computer Control repair is to install a Diagnostic Scan Tool on to the Data Link Connector to retrieve any Trouble codes in the Computer System. After the Code retrieval, the input and output data of the Computer can be checked for abnormal parameter readings. The symptom fault can now be classified as electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical.
